Rodney Montag Rodney Montag heads up the New York office and is responsible for loan and portfolio acquisitions as well as joint ventures and investments with our builder and developer partners. He originates deals based on his contacts from over 23 years in the real estate development, home building and finance businesses. Rodney had most recently been a Managing Director of Cantor Fitzgerald and a senior member of the Merchant Banking Team leading Cantor’s move into real estate and bank platform investments. In addition to forming Cantor Real Estate, Rodney was primarily responsible for Cantor’s creation of the Resolution Asset Management Company, with an investment from Starwood Capital, a platform which partnered with healthy banks for the purpose of acquiring whole banks, with loss sharing, directly from the FDIC. Prior to joining Cantor, Rodney spent eleven years as Vice President of Acquisitions for Spectrum Communities and later WCI Communities, where he was directly responsible for the company’s investment, financing and development activities. Mr. Montag bought, financed, created master plans, obtained approvals, and developed over thirty properties, accounting for more than five thousand residential units. Previously while with Procida Development and Construction, Rodney developed and built over 1,800 units of low income and affordable housing in the Bronx and Manhattan and formed limited partnerships to acquire, develop and build luxury subdivisions in the tri-state area. Mr. Montag is a graduate of Washington University School of Architecture and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
